Ward Manager - Acute Ward
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Ward Manager - Acute Ward at a leading mental health hospital in Springfield, Essex. This role involves overseeing nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing and leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing staff rota and e-rostering standards.
- Act as a role model, mentor, and leader for the team.
- Ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts for the ward.
- Conduct clinical investigations and manage complaints.
- Ensure compliance with Mental Health Act and related legislation.
- Manage medicines and oversee competency assessments.
Requirements
- Qualified RMN Nurse with an active NMC Pin.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a care setting.
- Willingness to pursue further training in management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in mental health care preferred.

Compensation
The successful Ward Manager will receive an excellent salary of £47,300 - £53,700 per annum.
Location & Schedule
This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week in Springfield, Essex.
